ARECSA was formed to play a significant role in the skills shortage in South Africa. It is a vehicle though which training is provided of personnel, students or other identified people in the field of nuclear, energy, high technology and other related fields.

It is also a vehicle through which obligors can discharge their trade obligations with South Africa from the National Industrial Participation Program (NIPP) of the Department of Trade and Industry or the Competitive Supplier Development Program (CSDP) of the Department of Trade and Industry.
